Driving simulation workflows increasingly depend on complex 3D environments, vehicle models, sensor configurations, traffic scenarios, and data generated by many different tools. Integrating these elements remains difficult because assets and scenarios are often represented using proprietary formats and disconnected data pipelines. This presentation explores how OpenUSD can provide a common data foundation for the driving simulation ecosystem. Through its composition model, extensible schemas, and non-destructive workflows, OpenUSD enables teams to standardize 3D assets, assemble scenarios from multiple data sources, manage variations, and connect simulation, visualization, and engineering tools more efficiently. The presentation will also discuss how OpenUSD can improve interoperability, reuse, and scalability across the complete driving simulation workflow—from content creation and scenario definition to large-scale simulation and analysis.
